Swedish grammar has a reputation for being easy — and for once the reputation is earned. Verbs don't change for person (jag är, du är, hon är), nouns have no case except a genitive -s, and there are only two genders. The Swedish Grammar Essentials deck (code HU7292, 77 cards) packs that whole system into a compact reference. Here is how to turn it into grammar you can actually produce.

Study tips specific to this deck
1. Build one "noun phrase grid" card. The deck spreads agreement over cards 3–7 and 24–29, but Swedish only clicks when you see the full paradigm at once. Write a single card with five lines: en stor björn · ett stort lodjur · den stora björnen · det stora lodjuret · stora björnar. Every adjective you learn later slots into that grid — double definiteness included.
2. This is a rule index — add the reps yourself. Only a handful of cards (flaskan, brevet, den här flaskan, det där brevet) ask you to produce Swedish; the rest name rules. Two gaps matter most:
- V2 appears on one card. Add inversion drills: Idag åker jag (not Idag jag åker), Nu är hon hemma.
- Verb groups show group 1 in full (kallar, kallade, kallat) but groups 2–4 only partially. Write one card per group with all four forms (köper, köpte, köpt; syr, sydde, sytt; skriver, skrev, skrivit).
Also reword the clipped fronts ("Verbs are in group 4" → "Which verbs belong to group 4?") and pair the motion/location adverbs (upp/uppe, in/inne, ut/ute, hem/hemma) as one contrast card. Watch the homograph var: past of vara ("was", card 66) and "where" (card 72).
