Tips specific to this deck
Group the cards by root and by meal, not by card order. Arabic food words come in families: لحم lahm (meat) gives لحم بقر, لحم الخروف, لحم ماعز; عصير 'asir (juice) gives عصير ليمون and عصير تمر هندي; شوربة gives شوربة عدس and شوربة دجاج. Learn the head word once and the compounds become free. Watch the near-twins too: طحين taheen is flour, طحينة tahina is sesame paste, a classic ordering mistake. Some backs repeat on purpose: حمص is both hummus and chickpeas (the dish is named after the pulse), and كزبرة covers both coriander cards (73 and 79). Kanafeh (32) and Kunafa (131) are the same كنافة, so suspend one.
Tag the regional words before you travel. The deck mixes standard Arabic with Levantine forms (jibneh, batata, dolma), and several words shift meaning across borders: لبن laban is yogurt in the Levant but a buttermilk-style drink in the Gulf; خوخ khawkh is a peach in Egypt but usually a plum in Syria and Lebanon, where a peach is دراق; tomatoes are طماطم in Egypt and the Gulf but بندورة in the Levant, and potatoes become بطاطس in Cairo. Add the local variant to the hint of each card for the country you are heading to. Note also that حار means both spicy and hot: ask «حار؟» and you may get a temperature answer.
Once the food words stick, put them into sentences with Memorize Arabic Travel Phrases, and compare regional forms in Learn Arabic Dialects.
