The deck is called PMP: All Knowledge Areas, but after reading all 184 cards the honest description is different: this is a deck about the PMP credential — the exam format, the eligibility rules, the PDU cycle — with the ten Knowledge Areas reduced to one-line definitions. Know that before you start and it is a genuinely useful deck for the administrative half of your preparation. Expect earned value formulas and you will be stuck.

The vocabulary you will own

ECO (Examination Content Outline) and its 4–5 year revision cycle, PMBOK Guide, CAPM, CCR, PDU, R.E.P., Pearson VUE, the four proficiency ratings (Above Target, Target, Below Target, Needs Improvement), the 35-hour education requirement, the 60-month path for a high school diploma, one-year eligibility windows, application audits, three retakes per eligibility year, inputs / tools and techniques / outputs, the five retired process groups with their old weightings, predictive versus agile versus hybrid, and the PRINCE2 comparison by region.

Delete these cards before your first review

Seven cards have no answer on the back. They say "check PMI's website for current pricing", "check PMI's current retake policy", "check current policy on PDU carryover", "check with Pearson VUE". A flashcard that answers go look it up trains nothing and steals a slot in your queue — look those five facts up once, write the real numbers on the backs, or delete the cards.

Tip 1 — quarantine the pre-2021 material

Cards 13 to 19 and 93 to 98 teach the five process groups (Initiating 13%, Planning 24%, Executing 31%, Monitoring and Controlling 25%, Closing 7%) and the 49 processes. That structure was retired in January 2021 — the deck says so itself on card 114. It is still worth knowing as background, but suspend those thirteen cards until you have the three current domains automatic, or you will answer exam-style questions from the old map. Same for the dated statistics: the 1,036,368 certified professionals and 314 chapters are July 2020 figures, and card 80 anchors the deck to PMBOK 6th Edition while the 7th Edition has been out since 2021 and the exam is written against the ECO, not a PMBOK edition.

Tip 2 — collapse the duplicates, then write what is missing

Cards 25–35 define the ten Knowledge Areas; cards 99–107 ask the same ten questions in different words. Keep one set. That frees room for what no card in the deck covers: earned value (CV, SV, CPI, SPI, EAC), critical path and float, the WBS, contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M), the change control board and the risk register. Those are scenario-question fuel, and 184 cards of exam trivia will not supply them.
