Most "top 100 words" lists for Thai are built from a textbook. This one was clearly built from a screen: the Thai Vocabulary: Top 100 Essential Words deck on Flip It (code LH7802, 98 cards) teaches โอ้ (oh), เฮ้ (hey), ว้าว (wow), ที่รัก (darling) and พระเจ้า (God) — the vocabulary of dubbed drama, not of a phrasebook. That is not a flaw once you know it. These are the words people actually say; they are just not the words you need at a ticket counter.

What the 98 cards cover
Pronouns and people (ฉัน I, เธอ you, เขา he, คน person, เพื่อน friend, แม่ mother, พ่อ father, พี่ชาย older brother, ลูก son), the yes/no core (ใช่, ไม่, ไม่เป็นไร, ตกลง, แน่นอน), courtesy (ขอบคุณ, ขอโทษนะ, ได้โปรด, สวัสดี, อรุณสวัสดิ์, ลาก่อน, บาย), question words (อะไรนะ, ทำไม, ใคร, เมื่อ), conversational glue (แต่, และ, หรือ, งั้น, ดังนั้น, แค่, แล้ว, จริงๆ, บางที), short commands (ไป, มา, เดี๋ยว, หยุดนะ, นั่งลง, ฟังนะ, ช่วยด้วย, ไปกันเถอะ, อย่า), and a thin layer of time words (ตอนนี้, วัน, ปี, นาที, ปีก่อน).
| Front (English) | Back (Thai) |

Note what is missing: no numbers, no food, no prices, no directions. Treat it as a conversation-opener deck, not a travel deck.
Fix four cards before your first review
The deck has four backs that will teach you something wrong:
- นาย is not "you (polite)." It is casual, male-addressed, closer to "dude." The genuinely polite คุณ is absent from the deck — add it.
- พวก alone is not "we." พวก marks a group ("bunch of"); we is พวกเรา.
- พวกเรา is glossed as both "our" and "their." It cannot be their; that is ของพวกเขา.
- ดร is not "doctor." It is the written abbreviation of Dr. before a name. The spoken word is หมอ.
Add the politeness particles yourself
The single biggest gap: ครับ (male speaker) and ค่ะ (female speaker) never appear on any card. Bare สวัสดี and ขอบคุณ sound curt to a Thai ear. Before your first pass, append the particle that matches your own gender to the dozen social cards — greetings, thanks, apologies, yes/no answers. Same for ฉัน: it reads female-leaning, and male speakers say ผม.
Second tip: several backs are not words but whole utterances with the particle baked in — ฟังนะ, หยุดนะ, เห็นมั้ย, รู้ไหม, เอาล่ะ. Learn those as chunks and never try to reuse the fragments; drill only the bare-word cards in the production direction, since the deck runs English → Thai and several backs collide (เธอ is both you and her, เขา both he and him, ทุกคน both everyone and all).
There is no romanisation anywhere, which is the right call — but pair every session with the script, because five tones ride on spelling alone.
