A Spanish course gets you through a café and a train station. It does not get you through a board meeting in Mexico City or an intake form at a clinic in Madrid. Spanish Business & Medical on Flip It (deck code RA9667) fills that gap with 496 English → Spanish cards: roughly 300 on business, finance and the workplace, and about 196 on anatomy, symptoms, treatments and healthcare. Here is what the deck covers and the fastest way to make it stick.

Business Spanish: the 300-card block

The first half runs from company structure to career vocabulary. You will master: empresa, sociedad, filial, pequeña empresa, fábrica, almacén, exportación, PIB, crecimiento económico, deflación, moneda, préstamo, acción, cartera, activo, ingresos, ganancia bruta, costo fijo, fijación de precios, impuesto, contabilidad, estado de resultados, informe anual, Director Financiero, Junta Directiva, contratación, personal, meta, productividad, punto de referencia, acta, términos y condiciones, flujo de trabajo, logística, pedido, retroalimentación, investigación de mercado, mercado objetivo, marca, publicidad, marketing digital, propuesta, incentivo, compensación, capacitación, entrevista, renuncia, aviso, currículum, gestión de riesgos, automatización, nube, reclamo, certificación.

Two things stand out. First, Latin American forms are preferred where they differ from Spain: costo (not coste), Impuesto al Valor Agregado (not Añadido), jubilación, retroalimentación. Second, a handful of cards are identical in both languages — sector, crisis, capital, auditor, director, supervisor, plan, agenda, legal, marketing, branding, logo, software — so the real work is pronunciation and gender, not memorization.

Medical Spanish: the 196-card block

The second half moves from the body to the ward. Anatomy: pulmón, cerebro, páncreas, sangre, articulación, columna vertebral, hombro, rodilla, pecho/tórax, dedo, ojo, diente, cabello, lengua, intestino, tendón, tejido, sistema circulatorio, sistema esquelético. Symptoms and conditions: tos, inflamación, hipertensión, esguince, quemadura, vómito, mareo, dolor abdominal, dolor de muelas, congestión, ansiedad, insomnio, infección, trastorno, enfermedad, epidemia. People and places: cirujano/cirujana, cardiólogo/cardióloga, farmacia, sala de espera, hospital. Procedures: diagnóstico, pastilla, inyección, anestesia, vendaje, radiografía, análisis de sangre, frecuencia respiratoria, biopsia, cirugía, esterilización, rehabilitación, radioterapia, parto, lactancia materna, menopausia.

Many cards give two answers separated by a slash (Chest = Pecho / Tórax, Medicine = Medicina / Medicamento). Learn both: the first is what a patient says, the second is what appears on the chart.

Two study tips for this deck

Split the deck by register, not by half. Business cards are mostly cognates ending in -ción, -dad or -ía (exportación, productividad, economía): drill them fast, in batches of 40, and focus on stress marks. Medical cards contain the genuinely foreign words (esguince, moretón, muelas, parto, vendaje): give these smaller batches of 15 and more repetitions.

Attach every symptom to a sentence you would actually say. "Tengo falta de aire desde ayer" or "Me duele la rodilla" anchors disnea and rodilla far better than the bare noun, and the tener vs doler pattern is exactly what a doctor expects to hear.

Where to start

Log in to Flip It, search RA9667 in the library, and run the business block first if you are preparing for a job, or the medical block first if you are heading to a clinic. Studying the same split in another language? The sister deck is covered in our French Business & Medical vocabulary guide.
