Two vocabularies rarely share a deck: the Spanish you need to describe a waterfall, and the Spanish you need to tell IT your laptop froze. Spanish Nature & Technology (code YW8400) puts both in 299 English→Spanish cards, and the split is clean: cards 1-150 cover nature, weather and environment; cards 151-299 cover computers, the internet and apps.

What you will be able to name

Landscape: montaña, colina, valle, llanura, meseta, acantilado, cañón, humedal, pantano, glaciar. Plants: raíz, semilla, musgo, helecho, palmera, roble. Animals (about 50 cards): ardilla, zorro, ciervo, lagartija, sapo, gorrión, tiburón, pulpo. Weather: niebla, neblina, trueno, relámpago, huracán, inundación, arco iris. Environment: contaminación, reciclaje, efecto invernadero, combustible fósil, especie en peligro de extinción. Tech: teclado, placa base, disco duro, ancho de banda, navegador, contraseña, cifrado, cortafuegos, deshacer, depurar, bucle, aprendizaje automático, comercio electrónico, código QR.

Tip 1: split the slashes by region

About a quarter of the backs (78) pack two words behind a slash, and most are Spain vs Latin America, not synonyms: ordenador / computadora, altavoces / bocinas, auriculares / audífonos, placa base / tarjeta madre, teléfono móvil / celular, portátil / laptop, copia de seguridad / respaldo. Decide which Spanish you are heading for and add a "Spain" or "LatAm" tag to the hint — otherwise you will mix ordenador and celular in one sentence. Some slashes do carry a real difference worth keeping: pez is the living fish but you eat pescado (missing from the deck), pollo is on the plate while gallina is the hen, fruta is what you buy but fruto is the botanical term.

Tip 2: add the article to every noun

No back shows el or la, so gender has to be guessed — and this deck is full of traps: el clima, el sistema operativo, el águila (feminine, but el before stressed a), la red, la flor, la llamada de voz. Rewrite the backs as el bosque, la cueva, el árbol from day one; it costs nothing now and saves a year of agreement errors.

Two quick clean-ups: cards 133-135 (waste, garbage, trash) all give basura — merge them into one card — and 192/193 both end on página web.

A sensible order

Start with the tech half (151-299): many words are near-cognates (algoritmo, ciberseguridad, automatización) and the action verbs (guardar, pegar, borrar, reiniciar, apagar) are usable immediately. Then take nature in its natural groups: landscape, plants, animals, weather, environment.
