Deck PB7063 – JavaScript: Grundlagen is the German edition of our JavaScript Core Concepts deck: the same 76 cards built from MDN's language overview, with the question in English and the answer in German. It suits an Ausbildung als Fachinformatiker, a German-speaking bootcamp, or anyone who reads MDN auf Deutsch.

Eight cards worth learning first
| Front | Back (German, as in the deck) |
|---|---|
| Is NaN equal to itself? | Nein, NaN ist der einzige Wert in JavaScript, der nicht gleich sich selbst ist |
| Does const prevent mutations? | Nein, es verhindert nur Neuzuweisungen. Bei Objekten ist obj.a = 1 erlaubt |
| Temporal dead zone | Der Bereich, in dem let/const-Variablen zwar im Scope existieren, aber vor der Deklaration nicht zugänglich sind |
| '3' + 4 + 5 | '345' (String-Verkettung von links nach rechts) |
| 0 && 'Hello' | 0 (erster falsy-Wert) |
| Create private fields | Eine Raute # voranstellen. Die Raute ist Teil des Namens |
| Closure | Eine Funktion zusammen mit ihrer lexikalischen Umgebung |
| Is JavaScript single-threaded? | Single-threaded: keine Parallelität, nur Nebenläufigkeit über die Event-Loop |
The German vocabulary this deck teaches
Gleitkommazahl, Ganzzahl, BigInt-Suffix n, String-Verkettung, Typumwandlung (== vs strikte Gleichheit ===), blockbezogene Variablen, Neuzuweisung, Temporal Dead Zone, Kurzschlussauswertung, automatisches Einfügen von Semikolons (ASI), Durchfallen im switch, try...catch/throw, Punkt- und Klammernotation, Übergabe per Referenz, dünnbesetzte Arrays, Rest-Parameter und Spread-Syntax, Standardparameter, Pfeilfunktionen mit implizitem return, IIFE, Funktionen als First-Class-Objekte, Closures, static und private Felder, Promises und async/await, import/export, Host-Umgebung (Browser, Node.js, Deno).
Two German traps to tag
Parallelität ≠ Nebenläufigkeit. Card 71 gets it right and it is the best card in the deck: Parallelität = parallelism (truly simultaneous), Nebenläufigkeit = concurrency (interleaved through the event loop). German job interviews love this pair; English speakers often translate both as "parallel".
Parameter ≠ Argument. Card 54 says the function ignores "die zusätzlichen Parameter". What you pass at call time are Argumente; Parameter are the names in the declaration. Rewrite the back as "ignoriert die zusätzlichen Argumente" and you'll use the term your Berufsschule exam expects. Same pairing for Anweisung (statement) vs Ausdruck (expression).
Fix three cards before your first review
The edition inherits the English deck's flaws:
- Card 29 claims a walrus operator
:=exists in JavaScript. It doesn't (that's Python 3.8). Delete the card, or turn it into "assignment is itself an expression:if ((x = f()))". - Card 35 lost its front: "Switch → Der Operator ===" should read "Which comparison does switch use?".
- Card 13 forgets two falsy values:
-0and0n. Add them to the back.
Then drill the expression cards (23, 25, 27, 28) by saying the output aloud before you flip.
Read the English version for the full walk-through, then continue with ES6+ features. Find PB7063 in the library on Flip It.
